Lots of pictures to post so you won't see a lot of captions. Really now that I think about it these pictures are pretty self explanatory so little wording will suffice. Memorial Day weekend we headed to the beach, along with millions of other Americans on both coasts. Watch Hill, RI was the destination of choice. As many of you know Joe and I are looking for a house. Below you will find our future residence overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

Irish Step Dance
Been a crazy, crazy few weeks and I am all out of order. This post I will feature Julia's first Irish Step Dancing show.
Friday May 21 Julia danced her Irish jig and reel for the first time in front of an audience. As I have mentioned before, Julia's teacher Erin and I used to dance together way back in the day. Erin opened up her own school in the fall of last year. Some schools host recitals, Erin has gone the more traditional route and the girls dance in pubs. So their first show was at the Half Door in Hartford. Julia brought her entourage...her parents, mema and papa, and Auntie Kara. Is was extra special for Julia because she also found out that she will have a new baby cousin this winter.
So watching my daughter up there I was flooded with emotion. So proud of my baby girl (who are we surprised that she was not nervous in front of a room full of people?). Ecstatic that she loves to dance as much as I did. Kara and I were itching to get up there to join the other girls but we already had our time in the spotlight. Little did I know that at 4, dancing in the basement of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury, that I would be watching my own child decades later (but not to many dacades) carry on a tradition I hope will go on forever. Yeah what do you know at 4? I mean really, at 4 you are lucky my dress wasn't pulled over my head, but you get what I mean.
The girls are in skirts and the school t-shirts because Erin is in the process of designing a school costume. I hear it will be revealed in the fall! So here we go. The pictures.....

Mr. and Mrs. Burdick tie the knot!
Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Katie and Brian. It was very special to me because I have known Katie and her siblings since they were very young. Just to give you a background. When my parents got married they met Sharon (Katie's mother) and her family. Sharon was in high school and her parents we're around much so my parents kind of took her under their wing. Years later when I was in high school I had a part time job watching Sharon's kids Adam (though he swears he was way to old for a sitter and will hate me for writing this) Katie, and Sarah. I have loved watching them grow into the adults they are. So with out any further rambling here are the wedding pictures!
Ok I saved this picture for last. I think this picture I took of Sarah is absolutely breathtaking. I can't stop looking at it. Makes me want to go buy an expensive camera so I get these types of pictures every time. So Sarah if I go into debt getting a really great camera it's your fault. I mean if you were ugly this picture would have not been as great.

Well thank you Katie and Brian for including us in your day! I was honored to be a part of it.
