You can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

Happy Thanksgiving

The night before Thanksgiving Molly came over to hang out with Julia. Here are the beautiful outfits they came up with for their stage appearance.
Because my sister is on bed rest we had Thanksgiving dinner at her house. Her is my baby girl in her Thanksgiving dress
After dinner the guys cleaned up and the girls relaxed. Which was really nice. But guys being guys they did things in their own little way. I had to take a picture because it was so cute.
Here we have each individual biscuit wrapped in it's own bag.

And if you were looking for leftovers you went out on the deck. They bypassed the fridge completely
My dad and Julia
Uncle Rob and Julia
Rob made Julia hot chocolate, her favorite!

Bonding with Auntie Kara. At one point Julia had her hand on Kara's belly while they were watching the movie.
Julia slept over Kara and Rob's that night and as promised Rob put a tent up in the living room.
Elmo joined in the fun. He never moved from this spot until the next afternoon. Julia ended up falling asleep with Elmo. She said that he woke her up with his snoring.

In all our Thanksgiving was nice. We relaxed with family and had a low key day. My favorite part of the day was sitting down to dinner. My sister made place cards for everyone. When I found mine it didn't say my name but Godmother. And Joe's read Godfather. I am so honored and excited to have this role in my nephew's life. Thank you Kara and Rob!

Puerto Rico Discovery Day

Today was Puerto Rico Discovery Day at Noah Webster and the kids put on a little concert for the parents. Julia had a very important job of standing up in front of everyone and introducing the pre-k and kindergartners. She wasn't nervous at all and she read every word perfectly. I am so proud.

Next we have a video of one of the songs.

And the above turkey that Julia made for a project last week is on display in the front lobby of the school. It's the one on the bottom left.

Baby Sheftel 31 weeks and counting

Reillyn can't wait to meet his auntie. And can you blame him? Every few days he has to make is presence known by sticking his head so far down my sister's pelvis she starts to dilate and have contractions. For those of you that were worried...my sister is home from the hospital and on new meds. No baby Sheftel at least this week. I'll keep you updated.

It comes right down to family

So the last 2 weeks or so Kasey and I have been listening to the kids about the bickering that has been happening on the bus between the cousins. So and so won't sit with me, so and so looked at me...My vision of the bus riding off into the morning sun, the kids all smiles and happy looking forward to a new day, orchestra music playing with birds chirping...GONE. Replaced with visions of a 3 kid pile up in the isle, tears, and lots of bleeding limbs. We decided to let the kids learn to work it out because they are family and they will be riding the bus with each other for another 7 years. I'll let you know how that goes.

Well recently there has been a child on the bus that has been giving the 3 kids a hard time, pushing, name calling, etc. We'll call him Milton to protect his identity. Last week he pushed Julia down in the mud right before she got on the bus. Her knees and her jacket were covered in mud. See belowYesterday my nephew Peter calls me right as soon as he gets off the bus to see if Julia was ok. Apparently Milton claimed Julia had "good hair for pulling, and that's just what he was going to do" I told Peter Julia would call him just as soon as she got home. This is the conversation that took place.

Julia: Is Peter there?
Kasey: Hold on honey...

(pause)

Peter: hello Julia
Julia: hi Peter. I'm ok. Milton pulled my hair on the bus....(pause)...AND HE BROKE MY PENCIL!
Peter: don't worry Julia, I'll make him cry tomorrow.
Bob in the background: Now Peter that's not how we handle things.

It was the cutest thing ever and the perfect example of our family. Lots of bickering sometimes but within the family. If you are not a part of our family and you mess with one of us you answer to everyone. It comes right down to family simple as that!

Some blogging must be done...

So here we are again. Back to blogging. Was gone for a short time and somewhat addicted to facebook, but now I am back. Can't really write to much on facebook and I have a lot to say sometimes so back to blogging it is.

Besides Julia's birthday September was uneventful. Here are some pictures that my cousin Eileen took.
